The bulk of the P.C. Norris World War I Collection consists of correspondence to and from Lawrenceville alumni serving in World War I. The correspondents include many notable Lawrentians of the period. The men often wrote about the experience of being away from home and in combat. Other items include photographs, newspaper clippings, and wedding announcements. The bulk of the documents date from immediately before the war to shortly after armistice.

The letter consists of an updated "Honor Roll" (a list of Lawrenceville alumni killed and wounded while in the Service, Norris' thoughts about the end of the war, and updates from Lawrenceville alumni about their lives.
