Scope and Contents
This Collection includes most incranations of the Lawrenceville Student Directory and Photo dirctories including: The Lawrenceville School Directory, Student Directory, Student Photo Index, Faces in the Crowd, Facebook, and Lawrenceville Community. Most directories contain Students Name, Address, Phone Number, and Parents Names. Newer directories also include Photos, email addresses, and georgraphic directories.

Single photocopies and digital photographs may be made for research purposes. Permission to publish materials from the collection must be requested from the Archivist. Researchers are responsible for determining any other copyright questions.

Biographical / Historical
The student directories are printed annually and distributed to the faculty and all administrative offices. The directories were intended to be private and only to be used by faculty and staff. The student directories include the names of all students and their date of birth, form, home address, home phone number, and names of their parents. In addition to standard directery the school began printing Photo directories in the 70s. In the 1970's the Photo directories were called the Student Photo index, this became Faceces in the Crowd in the Crowd in the 1980s. In the early 1990's Facebook was introduced to replace Faces in the Crowd. Facebook consists of student and faculty photos and a student directory and grographical directory. In 2003 the School stopping printing a directory exclusivly for students but continued to print Facebook. In 2010 Facebook was renamed the Student Directory. In 2016 the Student Directory was replaced by the Lawrenceville Community.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
The Student Directory Collection includes the Bunn Library's copies and a large run of directories collected by the Office of Alumni & Development that was later transferred to the Archives.
Appraisal
Appraisal has been conducted in accordance with The Lawrenceville School Stephan Archives guidelines. Duplicates were discarded when more than three copies per year exist.
