Scope and Contents

This collections consists of three prints, and negatives that were scanned to 1,590 separate images. There is an additional digitized photograph. The negatives were scanned as JPGs at 800 ppi and are on a thumb drive. Folder titles and dates are taken from the Print File sheets holding the negatives.

Conditions Governing Use

Licensor agrees to give to Lawrenceville a license to use the Photographs, without the prior consent of Licensor, for School-related nonprofit use, including but not limited to, reproduction of the Photographs in School newspapers and other publications, brochures, and admission and alumni materials, whether in print or electronic media.

Licensor consents to Lawrenceville's use of the Photographs on School-related merchandise, whether or not offered for sale to Lawrenceville alumni, faculty and staff, students, or families ("Lawrenceville Community"), as long as any proceeds are utilized consistent with Lawrenceville's nonprofit purpose.

Lawrenceville is required to obtain Licensor's advance written consent if Lawrenceville intends to use the Photographs for commercial purposes, defined as unrelated to, or not benefiting or not consistent with Lawrenceville's nonprofit purpose.

In exchange for the consent to use of Licensor's Photographs as described above, Lawrenceville agrees to attribute the Photographs to Licensor any time the Photographs are used in print or electronic media or on merchandise. The attribution shall be indicated by including the following text on any use of Licensor's Photographs: © Mark Hertzberg. Additionally, Lawrenceville will provide Licensor with a sample copy of any Lawrenceville publication or merchandise which incorporates Licensor's Photographs.

Lawrenceville agrees that it will not provide consent to use of the Photographs to third-parties, not authorized by this Agreement, without the advance written consent of Licensor.

Biographical / Historical

Mark Hertzberg, L 1968, is an award-winning photojournalist, author, and photographer of four books about Frank Lloyd Wright’s work in southeastern Wisconsin. He received the prestigious Wright Spirit Award from the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy at the group’s annual conference in Los Angeles in October 2019. Hertzberg is the newsletter editor and secretary of Wright in Wisconsin, the only statewide group devoted to the architect’s work. His website is www.wrightinracine.com. A native of New York City, he was a staff photographer and director of photography of The Journal Times in Racine from 1978 – 2012. He is now a contract photographer for ZUMA Press Wire. Hertzberg graduated from Lake Forest College with a B.A. in International Relations in 1972. He is an avid bicyclist. He enjoys traveling abroad with his wife, always with camera at hand.
