He attended Lawrenceville from 1936 to 1939 where he was known as “Bob” or “Rosie”. Rose was known to be very athletic and was on the varsity swim team and on the polo squad. He was known to be a great photographer, which landed him a sport of the Photography Board and won him the Photography prize in 1938. He was also part of the Periwig club and Olla Podrida club. During his time at Lawrenceville he lived in Cromwell house while in lower school and later Hamill and Kinnan house. He was know to be a bit of a un-malicious prankster.
