O'Brien, Edward Francis
Biography
Edward Francis O'Brien was born in Red Bank, New Jersey, on February 8th, 1889. He entered the Lawrenceville School in 1914 with a scientific course and was a member of the class of 1918. While at school, he lived in the Kennedy House and was on the basketball, track, and football teams. He also was Editor-in-Chief of the Lit Board in 1918 and a member of the Glee Club, Calliopean Society, and Good Government Club. He attended Yale University and earned his Bachelor of Philosophy from 1914-1918. After graduating, he served in WWI as a second lieutenant in the infrantry from June 1918 to Januart 1919. O'Brien would become vice president of sales of the Frankfurt Distillers Corporation, and would pass away on July 27th, 1985.

Eleventh War Letter, September - October 1918
Contains 2 copies of a 16 page typewritten letter from Norris to "Lawrenceville friends". The letter consists of an updated "Honor Roll" (a list of Lawrenceville alumni killed while in service), Norris' thoughts about the impending end of the war, a list of Lawrenceville recipients of various war medals, updates about the lives of Lawrenceville alumni in the service, and updates about classes and teachers at the Lawrenceville School.

Materials found in this scrapbook almost exclusively date from 1915-1919, with outlying printed publications and photographs from 1926, 1921, and 1959. It primarily focuses on newspaper clippings, correspondences, and personal photographs of students at the Lawrenceville School, with a focus on athletics. Additional documents include a 1918 class ode, O'Brien's class speech, a felt military badge, and a postcard sent from FO'Brien during his WWI service.
