From 1929 to 1976, the Lawrenceville School Infirmary, as it was then known, occupied the Georgian style building that is now McPherson House. In 1931, the mothers of boys in the school created the Ladies Auxiliary to the Lawrenceville School Infirmary. With the creation of Parents at Lawrenceville in 1975, the Ladies Auxiliary became the Infirmary Committee, a support organization open to fathers and mothers of Lawrenceville students.
Parents at Lawrenceville is a service organization created by a joint action of the Fathers Association and the Ladies Auxiliary to the Infirmary whose purpose is to support the programs and activities of the school. The purpose of Parents at Lawrenceville is to offer parents of students attending or who have attended The Lawrenceville School an association through which to express their views in regard to the welfare of the school. Their stated objective is to "unite...the Association with the faculty and students to bring about a closer cooperation for the good of the School through membership on various Interest Committees for any purpose which the Association may consider advisable." Through these interest committees, Parents at Lawrenceville promotes fund raising efforts and organizes many events that benefit the entire Lawrenceville School community.
